Organizations don't usually have people problems.

They have organizational problems that eventually become people problems.

A compensation issue may really be unclear career paths. Turnover may reflect inconsistent leadership. Employee frustration may come from unclear roles. Compliance challenges may stem from systems that never evolved as the business changed.

I've spent 25 years working at the intersection of those issues, helping organizations figure out what's really happening, what needs to change, and how to make that change work in practice.

I’m Angie Clark.

My work sits at the intersection of people and the organization around them.

The human side matters: leadership, culture, talent, employee experience, and the people doing the work.

So do the resources: structure, systems, processes, capabilities, and infrastructure that allow an organization to function.

That's the thinking behind Human + Resources.

The + is where the real work happens.

It's understanding how everything connects. Seeing the context and tradeoffs. Knowing that a decision can look right on paper and still fail in practice. And having the judgment to help leaders determine what should happen next.

I don't begin with a template or a predetermined answer. I begin by understanding the business, the people, the operational reality, and what the organization needs to accomplish.

Then I help figure out what needs to change and, when needed, I help build it.

I'm direct, analytical, and practical. I care about getting to the facts, making good decisions, and following through.

What I believe

Structure is not bureaucracy.

Good structure helps people do meaningful work well. It clarifies roles, supports better decisions, and gives leaders the ability to hold the organization accountable.

People decisions are business decisions.

Behind every workforce plan, policy, org chart, compensation structure, or transition plan are people whose work and lives are affected by the quality of the decision.

The goal isn't to choose between what's good for the business and what's good for the people doing the work.

The goal is to solve the real problem.

“She flushes out facts quickly and proposes the right way forward. An amazing fact finder and objective analyzer, she finds things other people don't. I can't think of anything we worked on together where she didn't catch something I hadn't thought of.”

The work should leave something behind.

My goal is not to create dependence. My goal is to help the organization become clearer, stronger, and more capable than it was before.
